Single‑vision lenses are the classic choice, providing one prescription across the entire lens for distance or near tasks.  Bifocals offer two zones – distance on top, near on the bottom – for those who need both.  Progressives, or no‑line lenses, blend distance, intermediate, and near prescriptions in one lens, giving a seamless transition for everyday tasks.  A better quality progressive lens allows for smoother progression of the increasing magnification at the bottom of the lenses.  The reading area is also wider – what we in the industry call the corridor.  A wider corridor gives a larger area to comfortably read, decreasing that sensation of always having to search for just the right spot in the lens.  Aspheric lenses are designed with a slightly flatter curve compared to traditional lenses, reducing distortion especially in the periphery and giving sharper, more natural vision.
