What We Do

01
Case History
We begin by discussing your medical history and any vision concerns to understand your overall eye health and get an idea of our starting point.
02
Vision Test
We assess your visual acuity by having you read from an eye chart, determining your prescription for glasses or contact lenses if needed.
03
External eye exam
We examine the outer structures of your eyes, including the eyelids, cornea, and conjunctiva, for any signs of abnormalities.
04
Internal eye exam
Using specialized instruments, we inspect the internal structures of your eyes, such as the retina and optic nerve, to check for any issues.
05
Treatment
Based on the exam results, we provide personalized treatment plans, including prescriptions, lifestyle advice, or referrals to specialists if necessary.

Eye Examination

how eye doctors Support YOUR VISION

Eye exams are essential to maintain excellent eye health and detect vision problems early, often before symptoms appear. Regular exams can identify conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, and astigmatism, allowing for timely treatment and preventing potential vision loss. Additionally, eye exams ensure your vision prescription is up-to-date, providing clear and comfortable vision.

WHEN SHOULD YOU HAVE AN EYE EXAM?

It's recommended to have a routine eye exam at least once every two years, but certain individuals may need more frequent check-ups. Children, people over 65, and those with a family history of eye disease should have annual exams. Additionally, if you experience any changes in vision, discomfort, or eye health issues, you should schedule an eye exam promptly to resolve issues before they become severe.

advanced technology means advanced eye care

Optos retinal imaging

Optos retinal imaging offers a transformative approach to eye examinations, capturing ultra-wide field (220 degrees to be exact) high-resolution images of the retina (the inner lining of the eye) in a single scan. That is 50% MORE than conventional fundus photography.

With Optos, we can detect a wide range of eye conditions, including retinal detachments, retinal nevi (freckles inside the eye), epiretinal membranes (retinal wrinkles), diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma, with greater efficiency. By providing a panoramic view of the retina, Optos imaging enables early detection of potential issues, allowing for proactive treatment and preserving your vision!

Optical Coherence Tomography
(OCT)

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging technology used to obtain high-resolution cross-sectional images of the retina. The layers within the retina can be differentiated to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of retinal diseases and conditions. We use the Topcon Meastro2 OCT to image the macula and optic nerve inside the back of the eye. This helps us better diagnose and manage many ocular diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
